Levande marks seventh retirement village site acquisition in two years

1 min read

The retirement living operator has acquired the development rights from Mirvac to build a retirement village at Oatlands Golf Club, a private golf club just beyond Parramatta's CBD, about 18km northwest of central Sydney.

Levande is partnering with the Oatlands Golf Club on the project, which will feature 127 independent living apartments across four buildings with two-level basement parking, plus 13 townhouses with basements. Mirvac's plans previously went to the NSW Land and Environment Court when it sought approval.

The 1.6ha site, on Bettington Rd, is close to several other Levande locations, including the 26-level vertical village The Cambridge at Epping (5km east) and Castle Ridge at Castle Hill (7km north); and a recently approved development at Hills Showground.

The 1.25ha Hills Showground development site will be home to 217 independent living apartments when complete.

As part of the deal, Levande will build a new clubhouse for Oatlands Golf Club members.

Levande’s Chief Executive Officer, Kevin McCoy, said, “Oatlands is a wonderful part of Sydney and offers an outstanding quality of life to its residents.”

The Oatlands site is well-served by public transport, and close to Westfield Parramatta shopping centre and several local shopping strips, the Westmead Hospital and specialist precinct, several aged care facilities, CommBank Stadium and Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.

These new developments follow Levande’s acquisition of a 1.75ha site in Bentleigh East, Victoria, 15km southeast of Melbourne's CBD, which will house around 400 residents in 253 units across three buildings, including a village centre.
