A spokesperson for Uniting AgeWell told The Weekly SOURCE that the provider is committed to continuing "the rich heritage of care and culture" at the aged care home, which was founded 40 years ago by the Latvian Friendly Society, and supporting the community to grow and flourish.

Fonda Voukelatos (pictured), Deputy Chief Executive Uniting AgeWell, said, "Very proud to have led the work resulting in Uniting AgeWell successfully transitioning Latvian Aged Care services in June 2025. Welcome to our newest team members, residents and their families."

The existing RAD price range at Uniting AgeWell Latvian Community will remain between $350,000 and $550,000.

Uniting AgeWell now has 21 aged care facilities – 13 in Victoria and 8 in Tasmania.

After Melbourne-based Annecto announced it would stop delivering services in July, Uniting AgeWell was selected by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DOHDAC) to deliver Annecto's Victorian CHSP services from 15 July 2025. The DOHDAC also selected Uniting AgeWell to take over the Home Care Packages for Annecto customers who wished to transfer to Uniting AgeWell. Annecto went into administration this week.
