Hireup, Australia’s largest NDIS-registered online platform for disability support workers, has expanded into aged care, as the sector prepares for the introduction of Support at Home and the release of 300,000 additional home care places over the next decade.
With $4.3 billion allocated in the Federal Budget to Support at Home in FY26 and existing workforce shortages intensifying, Hireup says it is aiming to fill that gap by connecting older Australians and home care providers with trained, vetted support workers through its established digital platform.
Hireup allows older Australians to choose who provides their home care, through their network of trained, vetted workers. Unlike most home care platforms and providers who uses a contractor workforce, Hireup employs workers to ensure compliance, insurance coverage, and continuity of care.
Hireup CEO Laura O’Reilly said the expansion aligns with the company's mission to give clients more choice and control, saying: “As the sector faces unprecedented demand, we can deliver workforce capacity at scale without compromising on quality or continuity.”
Hireup supports 11,000 clients annually and employs 14,000 workers, servicing 82% of Australian postcodes. To date, the platform has facilitated 152,000 support connections and delivered more than 21 million hours of care.
Hireup has also strengthened its board with two new members – clinical governance expert Michele Smith OAM and Paralympian and disability advocate Annabelle Williams OAM – to help guide its growth in both aged care and disability support.
