The former head of the peak body for private aged care operators, Leading Aged Services Australia (LASA), Sean Rooney, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN).

“Sean has a demonstrated track record of achievement as a CEO, designing and successfully executing strategy, effectively managing stakeholder engagement in complex and contested environments, and leading people and organisations through times of change,” said NQPHN Board Chair, Terry Mehan.

“I am looking forward to building on the strong foundations already in place, strengthening stakeholder and partner relationships, and working with the NQPHN team on improving the health outcomes for all North Queenslanders,” Sean said.

Sean will commence in the role on 6 November 2023 and will be based in Townsville, Qld.
