Austpec Communities seeks time extension for approved aged care facility at Rothwell, north of Brisbane

1 min read

Queensland developer Austpec Communities is seeking an extension to its approval to build a three-storey 147-bed aged care and respite facility on tennis courts at Rothwell, 28km north of Brisbane’s CBD.

The developer’s development application was approved by Moreton Bay Regional Council in 2016. However, the plans were redrawn and approved by Council in 2017.

The application is back before the Council seeking an extension on their approval as work is yet to begin.

If Council agrees, the aged care and respite facility will be built, replacing Frawleys Tennis Club. Austpec Communities bought the site for $3 million in 2016.

The new facility will feature 117 premium and 30 standard suites on a 9,800 sqm site.
