The Queensland faith-based operator has held an official opening of its three-storey, 90-bed Mercy Haven facility, in Rockhampton, 600km north of Brisbane.
There was a blessing and dedication led by The Most Reverend Bishop Michael McCarthy, Catholic Bishop of Rockhampton. Guests included Michelle Landry, MP for Capricornia, and Justin Lorenz, Mercy Community CEO.
After the formalities, Justin led attendees on a guided tour which highlighted the new home's interiors, private rooms, café/bar, landscaped gardens, and communal spaces.
Mercy Haven is adjacent to the existing Bethany facility. Mercy Haven's RADs are priced up to $650,000, while Bethany's RADs are priced at $350,000.
The $41 million project was assisted with a $17.8 million Federal Government grant.
Mercy Community also operates Leinster Place in Rockhampton, and has four aged care homes in north Brisbane and one in Townsville.
