Westpac Leading Conversations: is aged care ready for the Baby Boomer surge?

1 min read

Baby Boomers are expected to drive a 40% surge in demand for aged care services over the next decade – but is the sector ready?

That was the central question explored at the recent Westpac Leading Conversations lunch in Melbourne, hosted by Westpac and DCM Group.

The event brought together a panel of sector leaders, including:

  • Sandra Hills OAM, CEO of Benetas
  • Matthew Filocamo, Group CEO of For Purpose Aged Care Australia
  • Faye Spiteri OAM, CEO of Fronditha Care
  • Caroline Lee, CEO of Leecare
  • Brian Wong, Executive Manager – Health, Westpac

The discussion was facilitated by Chris Baynes, CEO of DCM Group, alongside DCM Institute Executive Director James Wiltshire.

The aim was clear: to get leaders talking about change and what transformation will be required to meet the Baby Boomer wave. DCM Group is advocating for Plan T – Transformation, a sector-wide shift where leaders identify bottlenecks, address inefficiencies, and share solutions that can be scaled across the industry.

The first video from the session is now available to watch - see above, with further highlights to be released in the coming weeks.
