Wollongong NSW-based IRT Group revises DA for Elements retirement village at Towradgi Beach

1 min read

The revised DA for Elements at IRT Towradgi Beach, 5km north of Wollongong, proposes the construction of 89 homes, including 17 villas, 24 villa-style apartments and 48 apartments with a mix of two and three bedrooms.

The DA, which is now on public exhibition, was resubmitted in December last year after working with Wollongong City Council to incorporate raised internal road levels to address concerns regarding maximum flood levels and adequate flood and stormwater management in lower levels of the village, IRT Group stated.

IRT CEO Patrick Reid (pictured) said the new retirement village aims to deliver industry-leading ageing-in-place housing and will be tailor-made to meet the changing needs of older people.

“Every aspect of this village, from within each of the new homes to the roadways, directional signage and landscaping, has been designed to support our residents as they experience some of the challenges of ageing,”
he said.

The timeline for the development will be determined when DA approval is granted.

IRT Group operates 27 retirement villages in NSW, four in QLD and IRT Kangara Waters in Belconnen, Canberra, ACT.
