A reminder to all providers to have natural disaster plans in place.
Heavy rainfall has affected the Not For Profit’s Culburra Beach Aged Care Centre, but all residents have been able to remain on site and are safe. Culburra is on the NSW coast in the Shoalhaven region.
"While water did enter some areas of the centre, residents were not required to relocate and they remain in their rooms where staff continue to support them with their care needs and serve their meals,”a statement from IRT Group said.
“The Care Manager and staff worked tirelessly with the local fire brigade and SES from 1am to ensure residents were safe, and impact to the centre was minimised.”
“With more rain anticipated staff will remain vigilant, with the support of the emergency services,” a spokesperson said, according to a report from 2st.
“Nominated representatives of the residents have been provided with an update and reassurance about the safety of their loved one.”
