QLD Retirement Village Act changes to commence next month

Final amendments to the Retirement Villages Act will commence in November 2019. These changes will introduce:

  • plans for changes in village operations, such as village closure, redevelopment or transition to a new scheme operator
  • more standardised residence contracts for retirement villages
  • standard requirements for financial reports and budgets for retirement villages.

Amendments to the Retirement Villages Regulation to implement these changes to the law will occur in stages through to 2020.
