Uniting launches $91M village total rebuild in Western Sydney: 146 ILUs continuum of care

Uniting NSW.ACT is looking to redevelop its Edinglassie retirement village at Emu Plains in Sydney’s west with almost 150 new ILUs.

The project, estimated at more than $91 million, will see the existing units and facilities – built in the 1970s – torn down and replaced with five buildings comprising 146 new units and a clubhouse, as well as 112 parking spaces. The development will complement Uniting’s recently-completed 100-bed aged care home on site, offering residents a continuum of  care.

“The redevelopment will enable us to provide a greater range of comfortable independent living options alongside our award-winning new residential aged care home, to better support ageing in place,” the operator said.

Uniting hopes to have its development application approved by winter of this year, with construction to start in spring or summer 2023 and complete by summer 2025.
