Latest golf club to seek seniors housing partner revealed
The NSW South Coast’s shortage of seniors housing is well known, but a new opportunity is now emerging.
Not For Profit IRT has lodged State Significant Development Plans for seniors living in Moruya, the town 305km south of Sydney’s CBD; and a seniors living proposal in Milton, 222km southwest of Sydney.
In total, IRT has an 800-home pipeline across Greater Western Sydney, the Illawarra and the South Coast over the next decade.
Now Urbanite Property Advisory is presenting to market, for the first time, a seniors housing development opportunity on about 3.9 hectares of land at Worrigee Links, a golf club in Worrigee, about 140km south of Sydney.
Urbanite has also sought a preferred retirement living partner for Caloundra RSL for a joint-venture redevelopment of about 11,000sqm of the club’s landholdings, with the club premises and carparking occupying the balance of the site.
Retirement village operator Keyton was named as joint venture partner for Cronulla RSL’s oceanfront site and car park, opposite the beach, 30km south of Sydney's CBD, also marketed by Urbanite.

Urbanite are seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced developers for a Joint Venture redevelopment of a portion of the club’s expansive landholdings located at Greenwell Point Road, Worrigee.
“Preliminary investigations by the club have unveiled a preference towards seniors living due to synergies and future income generation for the club, with the club’s main objective being to find a collaborative partner that they can work with now and into the future,” Urbanite stated.
Current major local infrastructure projects in the area include the $438 million Shoalhaven Hospital redevelopment and Shoalhaven Community and Recreational Precinct.
