The Fed Govt has announced $649M a year to fund 9,911 new aged care places in the 2016-17 Aged Care Approvals Round – with 75% going to new aged care operators, led by Lendlease.
25% were allocated to existing services to expand or upgrade, with $64M in capital grants to fund the expansion.
There was a 15% increase in applications for this FY, with around 4.5 applications made for every place available.
State-wise, QLD came out on top with 2,680 places, followed by VIC with 2,645 and NSW with 2,470. NT lost out however – with no applications made for the total of 180 beds allocated.
