11 new cases and 2 deaths as VIC sees lowest daily increase in months

Victoria saw its lowest daily increase in new cases in over three months, with just 11 new cases reported on Monday. This time last month the state reported 240 new cases.

This is the lowest daily increase since June 16, when 12 new cases were added.

Of Victoria’s a 657 active cases, 332 (51%) were linked to aged care.

Sadly, two more deaths were reported including a woman in her 80s and a woman in her 100s. One of these deaths has been linked to an aged care outbreak.

And the state’s total death toll has reached 763.

The major aged care outbreaks include:

  • 256 cases linked to BaptCare Wyndham Lodge Community in Werribee (2 new cases since Friday last week)
  • 219 cases linked to Epping Gardens Aged Care in Epping (no new cases since Thursday last week)
  • 166 cases linked to Estia Aged Care Facility in Ardeer (no new cases since Monday last week)
  • 140 cases linked to Kirkbrae Presbyterian Homes in Kilsyth (no new cases since Thursday last week)
  • 131 cases have been linked to BlueCross Ruckers Hill Aged Care Facility in Northcote (1 new case since Friday last week)
  • 128 cases linked to Twin Parks Aged Care in Reservoir (no new cases since Thursday last week)
  • 124 cases linked to Cumberland Manor Aged Care Facility in Sunshine North (no new cases since Monday last week)
  • 121 cases linked to Japara Goonawarra Aged Care Facility in Sunbury (1 new case since Friday last week)
  • 119 cases linked to Estia Aged Care Facility in Heidelberg (no new cases since Monday last week)

Victoria has 92 people in hospital with COVID, including six in intensive care.
