The local community of Heathcote, 120km north of Melbourne, is crowdfunding the feasibility study to establish a dedicated dementia village. It has a population of 2,800 and the nearest major town is Bendigo, 50km away (population 108,000).
The feasibility study will cost $300,000, the cost of construction $50M and 250 people will be employed.
