25 years of celebration for Catholic Healthcare

Catholic Healthcare is set to hold events across its aged care homes, community wellness centres, and retirement villages to celebrate its silver jubilee.

Catholic Healthcare’s Managing Director, David Maher said,

The landmark occasion provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and challenges over the past 12 months”.

  • The transfer of Haven Aged Care in Wagga Wagga, NSW to Catholic Healthcare.
  • Work on a new Retirement Living development at McQuoin Park, Wahroonga, NSW.
  • A newly refurbished home for 50 residents of the Villa Maria Centre, Fortitude Valley in Queensland.
  • The uniting of The Mater with Jemalong Residential Village, the construction of 19-free-standing villas in Forbes, NSW and the construction of a new Residential Aged Care home at Casula, NSW.
  • A new collaboration with Lendlease and the settlement of three new aged care development sites, including Catholic Healthcare’s first in Victoria.
  • A Win A Wish Competition where residents and clients had their dreams come true.

As part of her wish 90-year old Betty from Emmaus Village in Kemps Creek, NSW and her carer Debbie were taken to Birubi Beach at Anna Bay, near Port Stephens for a camel ride (pictured).

With perfect weather on call, Betty, atop the camel walked through the sand dunes, down to the beach and into the water.

Mr Maher says, in celebrating 25 years of Catholic Healthcare, “We have much to be proud of and much to look forward to.
