50 residents transfer from old to new KOPWA home in Roseville

A new 50-room aged care home has opened on Sydney’s North Shore.

The $21 million build at KOPWA in Roseville was managed by Total Construction and took 14 months and was the vision of KOPWA CEO Paul Smith. It represents the first of two stages.

“It was very challenging. Our staff and residents managed really well and the families were kept up-to-date. Everyone was involved,” said KOPWA marketing director Jennifer Homewood.

“The residents have settled in really well and we are building stage two.”

The build was complicated by it taking place during COVID with construction workers working adjacent to the operating aged care home.

Stage two which includes the demolition and excavation of the old home has recently commenced.

The development is scheduled to be complete in May 2022. KOPWA is a community-based Not For Profit Organisation.
