Aegis Aged Care Group is eyeing an October opening date for its new 134-bed aged care facility in Alkimos, roughly 42kms to the north of Perth.
The site has three wings with one wing designed as a memory support unit for 46 dementia patients.
Aegis CEO Michael Cross told Perth Now he had been approached by developer Peet about acquiring the site when it was still undeveloped bushland.
“I researched the site and was advised there was to be a new school opposite which I like very much because of the interest for the elderly,” he said.
The site sits between Aegis’ Anchorage home in Mindarie and Bethanie Beachside in Yanchep, and is one of the most rapidly growing areas in the Perth metro area.
