News that seven residents at Regis’ Yeronga facility in Brisbane had died from a gastroenteritis outbreak were widely reported by Channel Nine and Seven last week, following a 26-day lockdown at the facility.
Regis firmly tells another story. In a statement, the provider says: “These residents had a range of pre-existing ailments and while they may have been affected by gastroenteritis, in no case has gastroenteritis been recorded as the cause of death.”
