Fair Work Australia is reviewing an application by aged care employees for a pay rise of up to $10 an hour. Employers in the sector have been vocal about their inability to fund wage increases which could see hourly pay rates rise from $16 to $26 per hour. It is the first hearing to use the new low paid bargaining powers of the Fair Work Act and may be the first time the Federal Government is called to a pay hearing.
