Anthony Carbines tapped for VIC aged care ministry

1 min read

Victoria has a new Minister for Ageing after the resignation of Luke Donnellan, with Ivanhoe MP Anthony Carbines taking up the role.

Mr Carbines (centre), elected to Victorian Parliament in 2010, is described by Premier Dan Andrews as a “staunch advocate” for his electorate.

“In addition to being a great local member, Anthony has held a number of Parliamentary Secretary positions throughout his time in office, most recently as Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Parliamentary Secretary for Carers and Volunteers.

“He’ll bring this passion for helping people to his portfolios of Disability, Ageing and Carers, and Child Protection and Family Services,” the Premier said.

The new Minister was appointed to the position following the downfall of Luke Donnellan, who resigned from State Cabinet in October amid allegations of branch stacking.
