Applications open for Government’s $235M COVID-19 aged care workforce retention bonus – but just a month to apply

1 min read

Grants opened this week for the scheme which will be open to approved providers and aged care workforce agencies until 2pm Monday 20 July 2020 – just five weeks away.

As we covered here in The Daily RESOURCE, the payments were originally meant to see direct care workers in residential care paid up to $800 after tax, while home care workers would take home up to $600 after tax, but will be subject to income tax.

The bonus will be paid by employers to eligible staff, with workers required to be employed at the time of application to be eligible.

First payments will be made to providers/agencies in July 2020 with a second payment due in September.
