Bene Aged Care plans redevelopment of ageing Adelaide aged care home

1 min read

The Not For Profit has lodged plans to demolish part of its existing St Clair 52-bed home and build a three-storey, 60-bed aged care home at the site in Woodville, 9km northwest of the Adelaide CBD.

The existing facility and the heritage-listed former Woodville Private Hospital were built on the site in the 1970s.

The application to the State Commission Assessment Panel (SCAP) by the Italian Benevolent Foundation, which runs the provider, shows the hospital would be retained and refurbished as the main entry and reception area, with a chapel, community hub, hairdresser and cafe/restaurant facilities.

Bene has three aged care homes in Adelaide which it has operated for over 45 years.

Submissions on the proposal close on 13 April.
