Bolton Clarke waiting on green light for $23.4M co-located aged care facility in Beaconsfield (QLD)

The Not For Profit is hoping for an approval from Mackay Council to develop a $23.4 million aged care facility in Beaconsfield, 350km north of Rockhampton.

The Courier Mail reports Bolton Clarke already operates Mackay Breezes Senior Living Community at the site, which consists of 88 independent living units.

If approved, the new development would add a further 107 units to the site and provide specialist memory support care for seniors experiencing cognitive decline.

“The complex will provide residents in the greater Mackay region with the ability to age-in-place without having to relocate in the event they require higher levels of care,” the application states.

In its submission to council, Bolton Clarke says it anticipates strong demand in the broader Mackay region for the proposed residential aged care facility.

“The facility will adopt best practice dementia design principles and provide specialist memory support care or those experiencing cognitive decline,” it said.
