- New leadership: St Jude’s Health Care Services appoints Amelia Kaldani COO
- Sector movement: Leadership changes continue as providers position for growth
Only six weeks after CEO Linda Mellors departed, Australia’s only listed residential aged care provider will lose its Chief Financial Officer.
Regis Aged Care announced Rick Rostolis will retire as CFO following a more than four-decade career, including more than six years with the operator.
During his time at Regis Aged Care, Rick has played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial position, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and enhancing capital management capability, the company said.
He has also been instrumental in leading the Company’s mergers and acquisitions activities and broader business strategy, helping to position Regis for its next phase of growth.
The ASX-listed provider issued a statement in April saying earnings were expected to be at the upper end of previous guidance with an estimated $135 million for the full year, a 7% increase on the $125.8 million reported the previous year.
Regis has been implementing a cost-saving project, including the introduction of AI tools, and said “streamlining” of operations is underway with future savings expected.
“Rick has made a significant contribution to Regis during his tenure. His financial leadership, commercial judgement and strategic insight have helped strengthen the business and position it well for the future,” said Regis Aged Care Chair Graham Hodges.
On his departure, Rick said: “I leave knowing the Company is well positioned for the future and thank the Board, executive team, and all Regis employees for their support during my time with the business.”
The company has commenced a recruitment process to find his successor.
Rick’s last day with Regis Aged Care will be 31 August 2026.
Linda Mellors’ last day with Regis Aged Care was 19 June 2026. She commenced as MD and CEO of funeral, cemetery and memorial park operator InvoCare on 1 July 2026.
SwanCare appoints permanent CEO
Elsewhere, Not For Profit SwanCare, which provides home care, residential aged care and retirement living in Western Australia, announced Darren Sumner will take on the CEO role permanently.
SwanCare’s former Chief Corporate Services Officer was appointed Interim CEO in February after Phil Martin resigned after less than a year in the job.
Darren’s appointment follows a comprehensive national recruitment process and his successful period as Interim CEO.
SwanCare Board Chair, Kim Hocking, said Darren was the outstanding candidate to lead the organisation in its next phase of growth and evolution.
“Throughout his time as Interim CEO, Darren has demonstrated the leadership, integrity and strategic capability the Board was seeking in our next CEO,” she said.
“He has earned the Board’s confidence through his commitment to our residents, employees and organisational purpose. We are delighted to appoint him to lead SwanCare into its next chapter.”
SwanCare has four aged care homes at Western Australia’s largest fully integrated retirement and aged care campus, SwanCare Bentley Park, in Bentley, a southern suburb of Perth. The organisation also offers home care services in the suburb and surrounding areas.
