The leading Not For Profit has purchased the 115-unit Sugarland Gardens Retirement Village at Avoca, which the husband and wife team began building over 30 years ago.
Its the end of an era for the Torrisis, who sold their two Frasers Shores villages at Hervey Bay to another Not For Profit Blue Care in May this year in a deal worth between $70M and $80M.
The Bundaberg village is one of several sites Churches of Christ has added to their portfolio recently, which now includes 23 villages and 28 aged care services across Queensland and Melbourne.
Churches of Christs General Manager for Acquisitions and Business Growth Kim Teudt said the village will add to the services footprint they already have in the region.
In Bundaberg we already have a well-regarded aged care service, a small retirement village and home care service and the residents of Sugarland will now be able to enjoy those services which they wouldnt been able to when it was a single owner, she said.
