Construction starts on innovative aged care facility

1 min read

Premium aged care provider, Oryx Communities has risen to the WA Government’s challenge to increase care options and free up hospital beds with its new multigenerational community at Claremont on the Park, 9km SW of Perth CBD.

As we reported here the aged care provider purchased the 5,473sqm site in March 2018.

The new facility will provide fully serviced apartments for up to 120 residents, and a ground-breaking intergenerational childcare facility.

It will also provide respite care and a Memory Support Centre for daytime dementia care and support.

The two- and three-bedroom serviced apartments allow for seniors to live in a home environment but at the same time provide the flexibility to ensure they don’t have to move, even if care levels increase.

Founded in 2014, Oryx is a partnership between Nita Peploe, Toby Browne-Cooper and James Turnbull. Their first development transformed the eight-storey Richardson Hotel in Perth into a luxury aged care facility.
