COVID-19 cases in residential aged care continue to ease. However, there are still 158 homes experiencing an outbreak and all the associated challenges that presents, and 16 deaths from the virus were recorded in the week to 21 July 2023.

Vaccinations were up 25% over the week, from 2,681 to 3,366.

Nearly 60% of eligible residents are now fully vaccinated with the latest booster – a figure that is still shockingly low.
