Catholic Healthcare launches final stage of McQuoin Park connected community in Sydney

Catholic Healthcare has broken ground on the final stage of its McQuoin Park retirement village in Wahroonga, Sydney, marking the completion of its first fully integrated “connected community.”

The Not For Profit, together with construction partner Growthbuilt, turned the sod this week on the last 79 apartments of the project, located 18km northwest of Sydney’s CBD. Once finished, McQuoin Park will feature 167 retirement apartments alongside a 122-bed residential aged care home.

The co-located home, Chantal Cottage, provides short-term support, social outings, gentle exercise programs and Catholic Healthcare’s signature Mind+Move wellbeing program.

Catholic Healthcare's other connected communities are:

  • Lewisham, Inner West Sydney: 130 retirement apartments, 59 aged care beds, a wellness centre, cafés and lifestyle amenities, with A DA lodged and construction planned for early 2027.
  • Maroubra Beach, Eastern Suburbs: 55 premium apartments and 44 aged care beds, including coastal-view care suites, wellness, dining and leisure offerings, a concierge and assisted living options to support ageing in place.
  • Blacktown, Western Sydney: A DA has been submitted for the Stage 2 expansion at St Hedwig Village, which will add 46 retirement units for a total of 117 units, plus a community precinct including a wellness centre with café, lifestyle amenities and administration spaces. The aged care home will also be upgraded to 82 beds in a household model, including 12 care suites. Development is due to commence in early 2026 with expressions of interest now open.
  • Forbes, Central West NSW: The second stage of Jemalong Retirement Village is underway in Forbes, approximately 375km west of Sydney. The expansion will add seven villas and a community centre to take the number of units to 27 alongside the existing 127-bed aged care home.
