Group Homes Australia opens 11th NSW home in southern Sydney

The innovative aged and dementia care model has opened its doors at Caringbah, 24km south of Sydney in the Sutherland Shire.

Group Homes Australia began in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs before expanding to the North Shore and nearby suburbs, but this is its first venture into southern Sydney.

The private provider – founded by Tamar Krebs – operates under the model common in the disability sector where small groups of six to ten residents live together in suburban homes and can choose their own daily routines and hobbies with a 1:3 staff ratio.

In 2016, the company struck a $50 million deal with property fund manager Heathley to fund a national expansion – it is currently taking registrations of interest for Victoria and QLD.
