The Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA) will expand its Consumer Experience Reports after launching them for aged care in June 2017.
The AACQA is currently developing a set of questions to capture residents’ experiences from a review undertaken by the Australian Institute for Primary Care and Ageing (AIPCA) at La Trobe University which found eight themes important to consumers deciding on care.
These were:
- control;
- local residence;
- interpersonal interaction;
- flexibility;
- affordability;
- administrative and financial literacy;
- safety; and
- timeliness of service provision.
