Ingenia has expanded its holiday parks portfolio with the purchase of the BIG4 Beacon Resort in Queenscliff, giving it the largest footprint for holiday parks in Victoria.

Located 100km southwest of Melbourne on the Bellarine Peninsula, the resort – which Ingenia has purchased for $37 million – comprises 23 annual cabins, 31 caravan or camping sites, and 69 holiday
villas, with room for additional sites and cabins.

According to Simon Owen, CEO of Ingenia Communities, BIG4 Beacon adds a new flagship holiday park to Ingenia’s stable.

“Opportunities to acquire a holiday community as iconic as Beacon are very rare and we are incredibly proud to be the next owners of what is one of Australia’s top holiday parks.

“We look forward to working with vendor Lorraine Golightly and her amazing team at Beacon over the months ahead and then with Loraine moving forward to introduce some of the Beacon magic across our market leading portfolio of holiday parks,” he said.

The acquisition is part of Ingenia’s broader push into the tourism sector, with 40 holiday parks now owned, managed or under contract between Victoria’s Surf Coast and Far North Queensland.
