Villages will be one of the major beneficiaries of the Liberals’ pledge to vastly expand the number of practice nurses that can make home visits. They will be able to change bandages, assist in medication and generally make it easier for older people to stay in their village home longer. They plan for 800,000 home visits over 4 years at a cost of $164.5 million.
They also to create another 900 GP training place by 2011.
