1 min read

South Australian Not For Profit aged care provider Life Care has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer, senior SA healthcare executive Catherine Hughes.

Catherine (above), currently the SA Department for Health and Wellbeing’s Director of Statewide Demand Management, previously served as Executive Lead
COVID-19 Programs, managing operations such as drive-through testing centres and vaccination programs for Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN).

According to Life Care CEO Allen Candy (pictured), Catherine’s expertise and experience will make her well-placed to “bring a new dimension” to the provider in a rapidly evolving sector.

“Life Care is in an enviable position of having a strong culture of innovation and continuous improvement, which meant we have been ideally placed to respond to these challenges over the past two years.

“Catherine understands that challenge, having had significant experience leading change in complex environments under immense public scrutiny, and will play a key role in shaping the further elevation of Life Care’s strategy and service delivery,” he said.

Catherine replaces outgoing COO Roseanne Collins, who has retired after four years at Life Care.
