Maintenance, money and contracts top NCAT retirement village complaints

1 min read

The NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) received seven applications from retirement village residents from January to March 2018 – in line with the two previous years.

There are approximately 70,000 residents in NSW.

Two complaints related to capital maintenance and replacement, while the other five were about annual budgets and accounts; payment of money and compensation; termination and vacant possession; village contracts; and village rules.

How many complaints related to these issues didn’t make it to the tribunal however given the long journey and expense required?
