New study says only 18% of Australians have trust in our aged care industry

1 min read

Only 13% believe aged care is open and transparent, according to the ‘Inside Aged Care’ report which was released by Insights agency, Faster Horses, at the Leading Age Care Services Australia (LASA) National Congress in Adelaide.

Based a national sample of 1,701 people, the report found perceptions of care levels are also low with only one-third agreeing that aged care providers show empathy, offer high service levels, and take the time to understand the individual needs of those in their care.

Two in three also thought the industry was under-funded, increasing to 75% of those aged over 60 and 70% of those with a family member receiving aged care services.
