NSW North Coast Council delays decision on vertical aged care facility

1 min read

Councillors will inspect the site at 1 Highfield Circuit in Port Macquarie before considering The Palms Aged Care’s application for a 105-bed aged care facility.

The plan includes a stepped one, two and three storey building with basement car parking, but some councillors have raised concerns about the size of the development, traffic issues and car parking.

However The Palms’ Operations Manager Matt Hafford has told Port Macquarie News the parking spaces would allow for visitors as well as provide pick-up and drop-off facilities.

The council will now wait on a report from the inspection.
