NSW Police and Coroner launch investigation after wheelchair-bound aged care resident burns to death

1 min read

Kenneth Seach, 56, was in an allocated smoking area at Estia’s Tuncurry facility on the NSW mid-north coast when his clothes caught alight on August 26, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Mr Seach was airlifted to Concord Hospital and treated for severe internal injuries and burns to 60% of his body but died the next day.

According to his cousin, he had a form of dementia, epileptic seizures and insomnia – a distressing time for both the family as well as staff and other residents at the home.
