Ex-Mayor and property developer Jeff McCloy proposes second big 156-unit retirement village for Hunter Valley

The former Newcastle mayor wants to build the two- and three bedroom single- and multi-storey villas with caravan and RV storage on Haussman Drive at Thornton.

When approved, it will be his second development in the area in three months following his application for a 99-unit village at the 450-home Heritage Parc estate in nearby Rutherford.

The former pollie clearly believes the Hunter is a growth area.
