Providers invited to complete Aged Care Quality Standards survey

1 min read

The Federal Department of Health is reviewing its Aged Care Quality Standards and wants the sector to have an input on its future.

The Aged Care Quality Standards were implemented on 1 July 2019 for all Commonwealth-subsidised services across the aged care sector.

“COTA Australia worked to get the Consumer Outcome Statements into the standards, and this is a chance for older Australians to tell the government what they think about that,” said COTA Australia CEO Ian Yates.

“We’re delighted that the Government is doing the sort of consultations they should be, and we want to make sure it succeeds. Not just to improve the standards, but also to make sure the new aged care system we’ve campaigned for, and the Royal Commission recommended, happens the way we intend … with aged care consumers and their supporters consulted, and included at every step.”

You can complete the survey here.

The survey closes at 5pm (AEST) on Friday 3 September.
