Queensland relaxes restrictions on aged care visits after COVID cases drop

1 min read

Health Minister Steven Miles has announced visitors will be allowed in aged care homes and hospitals across Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan from today.

As we reported here, the state had already lifted restrictions on visits to aged care homes in the Gold Coast and Darling Downs regions last week, but the ban had remained in place for Brisbane and surrounding areas.

But with 14 days since the last infectious case in the community, Mr Miles says it is now time for families to be able to reunite with their loved ones.

The number of active cases across Queensland is currently sitting at 16.
