Regis beachfront aged care home gets the green light

1 min read

Gold Coast City Council has ignored residents’ concerns about parking and approved an eight-level tower for a high care nursing home at Palm Beach.

The 147-bedroom residential care facility to be built by Regis Aged Care, will provide a unique beach front location on a 3304sq m site on The Esplanade and Gold Coast Hwy.

As we reported here, the original proposal was for an 11-storey building but was later reduced to eight levels which residents still say exceeds the current relevant height standard of 29m for a medium density residential zone.

Residents are still unhappy because of parking - ambulances and staff parking around shift change being mentioned.
