Resthaven promotes its own Executive Manager to CEO

In February this year, the SA Not For Profit’s CEO Richard Hearn announced he would step down after 26 years in the job, kicking off a nationwide recruitment campaign.

Now Resthaven has appointed its own Executive Manager Governance and Corporate Services, Darren Birbeck, to the role.

Previously the General Manager of Corporate Services with the City of Charles Sturt, and before this he was General Manager of Corporate Services with ECH (formerly Elderly Citizens Homes) in SA. Darren will start in the role from 1 June 2020.

Mr Hearn – who will continue as CEO until 29 May said: “I wish to acknowledge my appreciation of the valued relationships and kindred spirit of the many individuals I have had the good fortune to work with over time and I wish Darren all the best and trust his experience will be as fulfilling as mine in this wonderful organisation – Resthaven.”
