RetireAustralia channels NZ village model with expanding care coordination staff

1 min read

Since NZ Super and NZ investment fund Infratil purchased RetireAustralia in December 2014 for $640M and appointed Alison Quinn as CEO (from Aveo) in September 2015, the village operator has set a course along the New Zealand retirement village product line of an integrated care path from independent living through to aged care.

At that time they were exclusively a traditional village operator offering ‘independent living’.

In March 2016 they recruited Brigid London from NZ’s No. 2 village operator Summerset, to be General Manager of Care and Operations at RetireAustralia.

They have now recruited Kate Gilmour to its newly-created National Services Manager role, overseeing the roll-out of care and support services at its 27 villages following a successful Central Coast pilot.

Gilmour was previously the Executive Home Care Manager at Adventist Senior Living, where she opened up 16 home care locations across NSW.

Brigid London said the appointment shows the company’s dedication to care services.
