The Property Council of Australia’s Retirement Living Council has promoted Oliver Luckhurst-Smith from National Policy Manager to National Policy Director, recognising his growing role in shaping the sector’s advocacy agenda.
Oliver joined the Retirement Living Council (RLC) in September 2023 after serving as Executive Manager in the Office of the Adelaide Lord Mayor and as an adviser to the South Australian Government.
Reflecting on his promotion, Oliver said: "It's a privilege to help steer our agenda at this pivotal moment for older Australians and the organisations that serve them,
"The creation of a National Policy Director role is a reflection of the RLC's expanding membership, growing influence, and strong impact across both national and state agendas. Our small but effective team is already making a real difference as we prepare for major regulatory reforms across states and the aged care sector.
"The goal is simple - a stronger, fairer retirement living sector that gives Australians more choice, security and quality of life."
His promotion comes as the sector farewells Tomai Morris, who stepped down last month after seven years as Commercial Director for Retirement Living.
