Scott Morrison says aged care is in Federal Government’s top three priorities

1 min read

The Prime Minister (pictured) said aged care would be one of the three most important focus points for the Liberal Government – along with youth mental health and the NDIS – in an interview with The St George and Sutherland Shire Leader last week.

The PM said this was largely due to the ongoing Royal Commission, but also that he was “keen to see more in-home care services established”.

The number of Government-funded Home Care Packages (HCPs) currently accessible to consumers has been a major issue throughout the Commission – with many home care providers, staff and advocacy groups heavily criticising the current waitlist of more than 128,000 older Australians who have not yet received the home care they were approved for.
