Sixth Blue Care facility in QLD highlighted over staffing breaches: The Australian

1 min read

The media increases its focus on Blue Care in Queensland, UnitingCare’s aged care arm.

A source has told the News Corp paper that a recent inspection at Blue Care’s Mareeba facility found breaches in clinical and nursing skills, particularly in qualified staff able to handle high-risk residents.

The non-compliance notice has not been made public yet. If correct, it will be the Not For Profit’s sixth facility to breach the same regulation.

Blue Care has faced scrutiny in local media since September last year, but this latest coverage suggests it has now gone national.

This media focus on an operator appears to lead to increased audit scrutiny and increased breaches. We will discuss in more detail next week.
