The Southern Plus Health and Wellness Centre is located alongside the Not For Profit’s newly opened East Fremantle aged care home and will offer services developed in partnership with Edith Cowan University’s Vario Health Clinic and Kaleeya Health including an exercise clinic, outdoor exercise area and hydrotherapy pool.
Southern Cross Care (WA) CEO Errol Turner said the centre’s exercise programs are designed to support the rehabilitation of seniors’ illnesses, injuries or joint replacement surgery following a stay in hospital and prevent them entering aged care early.
“We believe entry into residential aged care should be an end-of-life care service, supporting those in their final few months of life,” he said.
