Telstra targets home health and aged care as it pushes into the healthcare sector

Shane Solomon has been recruited by Telstra to lead its new health division. He was previously national head of health at KPMG, and is also the Chair of the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority. Telstra targets eHealth combined with Telstras strengths in connectivity and secured data collection. The applications they see our telehealth, care coordination, consumer health portals, enabling technologies and the data analytics.

As examples they see pharmacy scrips being sent straight to the chemist digitally and have bought a share in pharmacy software Fred It to do this. Home healthcare applications to provide real-time diagnostic information that can connect to GPs and nurse care coordinators is next.
