The Bays Aged Care facility in Hastings, Victoria reopens after $20M redevelopment

1 min read

The redeveloped The Bays Aged Care facility in Hastings, 78km north-west of Melbourne CBD, has opened after $20 million of work, which included $5.3 million from the Australian Government.

The new 60-bed redevelopment expands the Not For Profit facility’s overall capacity from 75 to 90 places for ageing and aged residents. It offers respite care, memory support and dementia care and includes a new dialysis unit.

“This expanded, state-of-the-art facility will provide residents with the aged care services they need and will allow them to remain within their local communities, surrounded by their friends, family, and neighbours,” Federal Health Minister and Flinders MP, Greg Hunt, said.

“This is an exciting new chapter for the Bays, which I know has cared for the Mornington Peninsula for over 90 years.”

The Bays Aged Care is part of The Bays Healthcare Group, which is based in Mornington.
